Mystery chromium source pollutes upland rivers

An air pollution episode which caused environmental quality standards (EQSs) for chromium in water to be breached for two years in a mid-Wales catchment has been uncovered by scientists from the Institute of Hydrology. But they have been unable to trace the source and are appealing for information which may solve the mystery.
