UK goes it alone on weaker NO2 standard

An official UK panel has proposed an air quality standard for nitrogen dioxide considerably less stringent than a World Health Organization (WHO) guideline.1 The Government plans to revise its air quality strategy to adopt the weaker standard - but even so, existing policies will be insufficient to secure compliance by 2005.
