Children's sex link to endocrine disruption
The ratio of male to female births may be a sensitive indicator of parental exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals, according to a hypothesis being investigated by epidemiologists. Evidence from groups heavily exposed to pesticides and dioxins suggests a significant decline in the number of sons born. Small declines in the proportions of sons in the general population have also been identified.
