Chemical waste dumpers do a runner from court

Two men who pleaded guilty to dumping 30 drums of chemical waste on open land in Teesside fled from a court in December as they were about to be sentenced. A tyre manufacturer who paid the men to dispose of the waste for a fraction of the sums quoted by bona fide waste management companies received only a caution.
