MPs grill Agency on packaging as Meacher pushes recycling

The Environment Agency's handling of the packaging waste regime came under attack during a House of Commons inquiry into sustainable waste management on 31 March. MPs also heard from Environment Minister Michael Meacher that Britain's record on recycling was "frankly pathetic" - and that recycling should come above energy recovery in the waste hierarchy.
