WHO to slash dioxin safety limits

An international panel of experts has advised the World Health Organization to cut its recommended safe limit for dioxin intakes by 60-90%. The proposal, likely to be adopted later this year, will mean that many consumers will have intakes well in excess of the new limits. Consumption of fish oils supplements remains a major potential source of exposure, with typical daily doses from this source alone exceeding the new recommended limit.
