DGXXIV seeks tightening up of on-product green claims

Action is needed to tackle the growing number of misleading environmental claims on products and packaging and to harmonise the efforts of Member States to deal with the problem, according to a study for the European Commission's Consumer Affairs Directorate, DGXXIV. 1 The study suggests a range of policy options, including the addition of scientific criteria for green claims to the EC Directive on misleading advertising.
