Concessions on NOx in agreement on waste incineration

Environment Ministers reached a political agreement on the proposed EC Directive on waste incineration in June. Key developments included a softer line on emissions of nitrogen oxides from existing plants - and concessions which will offer further breathing space to the cement industry. The text also sets a timetable to bring hazardous waste incinerators under the new Directive.
