Water company pollution penalties top £1.65 million

Water companies have been prosecuted more than 350 times for water pollution offences in the ten years since privatisation and have paid fines and costs totalling over £1.65 million, according to ENDS' latest analysis of prosecution data for England and Wales. The figures show little change in the level of fines imposed by the courts over the past five years.
