Bristol-Myers Squibb uses LCA to save $5 million in product costs

US health care business Bristol-Myers Squibb has used product life cycle (PLC) analysis to identify changes in the design of existing products which have already delivered annual savings of $5 million. But extending the programme to new products is proving more difficult because designers perceive environmental issues to be an extra workload which could delay commercialisation.
