Dome's reclaimed water is good enough to drink
All the water used to flush toilets and urinals at the Millennium Dome in Greenwich will be reclaimed from grey water or roof run-off or else drawn from polluted groundwater beneath the site. Thames Water has designed and built a £3 million treatment system for the job - but it is a Rolls-Royce affair producing water good enough to drink. The running costs may be as much as six times the cost of a conventional mains supply.
