Commission's busy work programme on environment

No let-up in the flow of environmental initiatives from Brussels should be expected during 2000, judging by the work programme unveiled by the European Commission in February. Policy developments on climate change, energy, transport and chemicals are set to dominate the agenda. But a new integrated products policy will also begin to take shape, and the Commission is also promising to promote sustainable development in its policies for enterprise - and specifically for minerals.
