Thames Water fined £250,000 for pumping toxic waste into homes
Thames Water received the UK's largest ever fine under waste management law in February after it admitted flooding ten houses with toxic effluent. The judge accused the company of showing "complete disregard to persons and the environment" after a wrongly connected pump forced sewage and pesticide wastes into storm drains, flooding homes and polluting the Thames estuary.
