Recycling of CRTs and plastics vital to meeting electrical goods targets

ENDS Report 302, March 2000, pp. 17-18

'Strides' must be made in recycling plastics and cathode ray tubes (CRTs) if yields of useful material from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) are to be increased, according to a report by the Industry Council for Electronic Equipment Recycling (ICER).1 For many types of equipment, current recycling yields will not meet the reuse and recycling targets in a proposed EC Directive.
