NEC unveils circuit boards free of halogen or phosphorus compounds

Japanese electronics giant NEC has developed what it claims is "the world's first" printed circuit board which does not require flame retardants based on halogen or phosphorus compounds. The PCBs will be used in NEC's products from 2002.
