Scientists savage EC priority list of endocrine disruptors

The methodology used to draw up a draft EC priority list of potential endocrine-disrupting chemicals was not "scientifically adequate", according to the European Commission's Scientific Committee for Toxicity, Ecotoxicity and the Environment (CSTEE). 1 Some suspected endocrine disrupters were excluded by "simplistic" criteria, it says — while many others were dropped because of a lack of basic environmental data without any hint of how they might be brought back into the prioritisation process.
