Pessimism over CHP blights climate strategy

One-third of the combined heat and power (CHP) capacity with planning consent is unlikely to be built under current market conditions, the CHP Association has warned in a recent survey of its members. It has backed this up with a consultation paper calling for urgent changes to the new electricity trading system, full exemption for CHP from the climate change levy and other reforms to help meet the official target for CHP. 1
