Make-shift pumps cost Anglian Water £38,000

Anglian Water recently appeared in court twice within a month on pollution charges. Both incidents involved temporary pumping arrangements - one allowing a stream of sewage liquor to leave a treatment works, the other causing the death of 1,000 fish. Northumbrian, Welsh, Wessex and Yorkshire Water have also been in court recently for pollution offences.
