Waste industry advised not to dismiss public concerns as NIMBY

Concerns about health, traffic and property values adjacent to waste sites are rational and should not be dismissed as "NIMBYism", according to a study supported by the waste management industry. The study also recommends that waste firms be honest about risks and take on board the views of the public.
