"Ecological footprinting" in sustainability plan for Wales
An action plan on sustainable development was adopted by the Welsh Assembly in March. As well as kicking off a programme of sustainability appraisals of Assembly policies, the plan includes a proposed "ecological footprint" indicator to measure trends in the global impact of resource consumption in Wales. The Scottish administration, meanwhile, is still struggling to get to grips with the sustainability agenda.
