Ministers roast Commission over sixth environment programme

The European Commission's proposals for the EC's sixth Environment Action Programme came under heavy fire from Environment Ministers at their quarterly Council on 8 March. Ministers also held initial debates on the Commission's plans for a new chemicals strategy and a revised bathing water Directive, and agreed a draft Directive on motorcycle emissions.
