BP takes green flak from shareholders

BP's carefully constructed green image and reputation for openness took a battering in April when it attempted to block shareholder resolutions questioning its environmental and human rights policies. One of the resolutions - on planning for a low carbon economy - was reinforced by a investment report which suggested that measures to control greenhouse gas emissions could seriously dent profits.
