Official group sets out case for supporting photovoltaic energy

The best way to develop photovoltaic energy in the UK would be a grant-aided programme to install PV arrays on 70,000 homes and several hundred non-domestic buildings over the next ten years, according to a report by a Government/industry group.1 But the report also poses important questions about the merits of subsidising PV technology against other renewables.
