Political wind blows fair for renewable energy

Energy Minister Peter Hain confirmed that he is the most forceful champion of renewable energy yet seen in Westminster during a House of Commons debate on 5 April. Outdoing muted criticisms of the Government's record from Labour MPs, he attacked his own Department for being too slow in seizing the commercial opportunities presented by the renewables. The Tories, meanwhile, regard renewable energy as too costly and as offering no solution to the climate change problem.
