Entrust's contempt of Parliament adds to landfill tax scheme woes

Entrust, the beleaguered regulatory body for the landfill tax credits scheme, suffered the ignominy of having to admit that it had committed a contempt of Parliament, in a hearing before the House of Commons Environment Committee in March. The case, causing severe political damage to the regulator, came within weeks of the Chancellor's decision to conduct a fundamental review of the basis of the credits scheme.
