SEPA quizzed over regulation of drinks industry

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency was put under pressure over the costs of its regulatory regimes to the whisky industry during a recent hearing before the House of Commons Scottish Affairs Committee. Officials denied that they regarded the industry as a soft target - and also pressed their case for legislation to control damaging water abstractions.
