Byker firm used fly/bottom ash beneath Isle of Wight car park

In the aftermath of the Byker ash affair, the Environment Agency has discovered that 18 tonnes of mixed fly and bottom ash from an Isle of Wight incinerator owned by the same company was used as a sub-base for a new council car park in 1993 - in breach of the incinerator's IPC authorisation.
