DEFRA outlines tricky issues on GMOs and the public

Views on the main implementation issues raised by the revised EU Directive on deliberate releases of genetically modified organisms were invited by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs at the end of July.1 Possibly the most sensitive among them are how the Government will handle disclosure of the location of GM crops and extend public consultation on releases of GMOs - but it is not showing its hand as yet.
