Firms fined for oil pollution
Cymru Country Feeds has been fined £8,000 after polluting a Welsh brook with vegetable oil in June last year. On 9 August, Wrexham magistrates heard how the Environment Agency traced the pollution of the Singret brook back through the surface water drains of Llay industrial estate. An oil tank with a bund filled with eight inches of oil was found to be the cause. The pollution resulted from seepage through the bund wall into the drains.
