Companies treat pollution as "acceptable risk", says Agency

Continuing low fines for pollution incidents are encouraging firms to treat prosecution as an acceptable risk, the Environment Agency complained at the launch of its annual "spotlight" on business environmental performance.1 Southern Water and Thames Water are among the usual suspects at the top of the Agency's polluters' league.
