Leaked energy review pins faith in renewables and energy efficiency
A radical greening of the UK's energy policy is set to emerge from the Government's energy review, according to a leaked final draft. The draft proposes targets for domestic energy efficiency and renewable energy for 2020, reform of the new electricity trading arrangements (NETA) and a shift towards a carbon tax - but offers little comfort to the nuclear and coal industries.
