Historic opportunity for Welsh slate waste

Alfred McAlpine Slate, the major slate producer in North Wales, has applied for planning permission to build a rail terminal at Blaenau Ffestiniog to capitalise on what it sees as an "historic opportunity" to sell slate waste as secondary aggregate. But the company faces a number of sizeable hurdles before its vision can be turned to reality.
