Chemicals Forum pushes for first phase-out agreement

The Chemicals Stakeholder Forum has decided to press for a voluntary agreement to phase out nonyl and octyl phenols - oestrogenic industrial chemicals used in detergents, plastics and lubricants. But it now faces a debate about where it should concentrate its efforts to speed the withdrawal of hazardous chemicals from the market.
