Tight PM10 standard for Scotland, Wales mulls weaker limit for Corus
The Scottish Executive has confirmed plans to set a more stringent air quality standard for fine particulates (PM10) than will apply in the rest of the UK. In contrast, the Welsh Assembly is considering whether to set a weaker objective around the Corus steelworks in Port Talbot - despite new evidence that iron may be responsible for the toxic effect of particles.
