Greening public procurement

In what has been described as a landmark decision, the European Court of Justice has ruled on the extent to which public procurement procedures under EU law can incorporate environmental criteria chosen by public bodies. The decision comes at a time when proposals for revising the existing legislation are in the pipeline, and will strengthen the arguments of environmental interests concerned that they will make the incorporation of environmental criteria more difficult.
