Japanese electronics giants push 'eco-friendly' bioplastics

Electronics firms Sony and Fujitsu have become the first in the sector to launch products made from plant-based biodegradable plastics. The companies say that such products are "eco-friendly" because the plastic is a renewable resource and uses less energy to produce - but gloss over the fact that the materials generate methane, a powerful greenhouse gas, when landfilled.
