First hazwaste forum meeting told of capacity concerns

The first meeting of the Government's Hazardous Waste Forum, held on 11 February, heard that new capacity to treat two million tonnes per year may shortly be needed. A draft report for the Environment Agency says this capacity is needed to cope with the looming restrictions on landfilling and increases in waste arisings.1
