Agency backpedals on timing of IPPC site condition reports

The Environment Agency is seeking a change in the law to allow it to issue permits to companies under the integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) regime before they have completed a thorough investigation of contamination at their sites. The Agency hopes the move will help inspectors cope with the backlog of applications.
