North Sea oilfields miss the boat for CO2 injection proposals

The window of opportunity for the UK to capture carbon dioxide from power stations and use it for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is closing rapidly as North Sea production dwindles. Speakers at a recent conference suggested that the time constraints, combined with formidable economic, technical and practical barriers, may prevent the option from being viable.
