One in four corporate deals hit by environmental due diligence lapses

Significant questions about the adequacy of environmental due diligence practice during corporate transactions have been raised by a survey of top companies by management consultancy KPMG.1 One in four firms only identified material environmental issues after transactions were completed - often because of inadequate scoping of due diligence work or failings by consultants.
