London faces ten million tonne waste challenge

The scale of the waste management capacity shortfall facing London was spelled out in June with the release of a technical assessment prepared for the Greater London Authority.1 The report predicts a growing capacity shortfall for the capital, rising above ten million tonnes per annum after 2010.
