The UN and IPCC have jointly asked for an independent review of IPCC procedures and processes, to be completed by 31 August 2010. The review will be undertaken by the InterAcademy Council, representing national science academies from the UK, US and China and other states.
It will address the IPCC's use of ‘grey’ literature that has not been peer-reviewed, the way in which it handles dissenting viewpoints, its review process and procedures for correcting errors. The IPCC leadership structure will also be analysed. It is not a review of climate science.
