The ENDS Survey of Environmental Professionals is one of the largest and most respected annual barometers of the state of the green workforce.

The survey includes rich details of trends in salaries and benefits plus green professionals' views on their current jobs and the outlook for employment prospects.

The results reveal green professionals being squeezed by cuts, despite the government's repeated claims to be the "greenest ever". But it also documents optimism around the growth prospects for certain green sectors. It also highlights a continued commitment to the development of higher professional standards.

This year's survey was carried out in association with two leading environmental professional institutions, the Society for the Environment (SocEnv) and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).
