  • DECC eyes flexible emissions performance standard

    The government will limit carbon dioxide emissions from new fossil fuel power plant but plans will not emerge before its white paper on energy market reform. The performance of carbon capture and storage projects must also be clarified.
  • Energy firms claim dubious carbon cuts under CERT

    Energy suppliers have claimed 1.4 million tonnes of carbon reductions for sending more than a million energy displays to customers despite lack of clear evidence.


The Castle Debates 2011 - Environmental aspects: science, law and policy

The inaugural Castle Debates 2011 – a series of high-level environmental debates with leading scientific, legal and governmental speakers, organised in association with the Law Society and Sykes Environmental, will be held on a monthly basis between February and June 2011. The debates will address: the future for renewable energy and heat; sustainable buildings; UK water security; sustainable transport; and farming and food security.
