Consultation on fine tuning of IPPC

A warning that harmonised emission limits may have to be set at EU level to achieve greater consistency between permits issued under the 1996 Directive on integrated pollution prevention and control has been sounded by the European Commission in a consultation paper on the regime.1 The Commission has also invited views on whether some installations should be dropped and some - especially in the waste sector - be brought under IPPC.
