Treasury panned for 'half-hearted' line on household energy efficiency

The Treasury has been accused of failing to support the objectives of the energy White Paper in its latest consultation on economic instruments to improve household energy efficiency.1 As expected, it continues to rule out taxation of domestic fuel - but also blows cool on charges for inefficient products and incentives for householders such as stamp duty rebates or tax allowances for energy efficiency measures.
