Scottish quarry fined for silt pollution

Aggregates firm Alexander Ross and Sons has been fined £4,000 after being found guilty of causing or knowingly permitting silt to enter a tributary of the river Nairn near Inverness, contrary to section 30F(1) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974.
