DoE fails to settle concerns about Chemical Release Inventory

The Department of the Environment (DoE) has announced that it intends to establish a Chemical Release Inventory (CRI) broadly along the lines proposed in a consultation paper last autumn. But it has left both industry and environmentalists in the dark for a few more months about how the CRI will be compiled, and whether information on the environmental performance of companies or sectors will be made available through the CRI.
