Scottish Power mulls investment in FGD

Scottish Power has revealed plans to install flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) equipment at its 2,400MW Longannet power station. The upgrading of the plant, which will also include the fitting of new burners to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides, is being driven largely by the firm's plans to increase power exports to the rest of the UK.
