DTI assesses compliance options and costs of batteries Directive

The annual cost of the draft EU batteries Directive in the UK could be up to three times higher than calculated by the European Commission, according to a regulatory impact assessment prepared by the Department of Trade and Industry. The paper also gives the first indications of what Whitehall sees as the main options for financing and organising battery collection and recycling.
